Macye Armstrong (Flounder) is very honored to be a part of this fantastic production of THE LITTLE MERMAID! Macye has been performing at the Artisan Theater since she was eight years old. Some of her favorite roles include: Jane Banks in MARY POPPINS, Fancy Nancy in FANCY NANCY THE MUSICAL, and Alice in ALICE IN WONDERLAND. This show has been particularly special because she gets to share the stage with her little sister, Miley. She would like to thank Reid Horton for giving her this opportunity and being such an encouraging and fantastic director, Valerie Walker for her outstanding choreography, and Mary Ridenour for not only being a great voice teacher, but always being there and helping her all these years. Miley Armstrong (Ensemble) is so excited to be part of her second Main Stage show that also happens to be her favorite Disney movie, The Little Mermaid. She has performed in the Children’s Theater since she was eight years old. Some of her favorite roles to play have been Chip in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, Tabitha Charming in A FAIRY TALE CHRISTMAS CAROL, and Mort in MADAGASCAR. She has loved working with Mr. Reid and Mrs. Valerie and is so thankful for this experience and to also share the stage with her big sister, Macye (Flounder). She is also so happy to do this show with Parker Gerdes (Ariel), who she greatly looks up to. Miley loves to sing, run track, and also shows rabbits through the Keller 4H Club. She wants to thank God, who has blessed her in more ways than she could possibly have asked for and thanks her mom and dad for their support, love and daily encouragement.

Jackson Banfield (Ensemble) loves to sing, dance, and perform on stage. He has always had a passion for musical theatre and is in choir. He has performed as the roles of Nibs in PETER PAN JR, and The Baker in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST JR. He is also known for the lead roles of Grant in THE TEACHER’S GIFT and Wyatt in SNOW WYATT.

Tionna Bell (Maid/Ensemble) is a sophomore at the Grand Prairie Fine Arts Academy in the Vocal Music strand. She also has a love for theatre and is excited to pursue further acting at Artisan. Her favorite roles are Shonelle in SCHOOL OF ROCK THE MUSICAL and Ensemble in THE WIZARD OF OZ.

Amber Bufkin (Jetsam) is thrilled to make her return to her first love—the stage, after a long hiatus. After graduating with a BA in Musical Theatre from Wilkes University, PA, Amber came home to take on roles at Pocket Sandwich Theatre and with Rover Dramawerks. Focused on her career path outside of the stage, Amber took an absence to discover the fun world of marketing. Once she graduated with her Master's Certificate in Marketing from SMU, she took on the job as Marketing Manager at the Omni Dallas Hotel. Now that her feet are wet, she's back in action on stage. Amber would like to thank her boyfriend and parents for their undying support throughout the years.

Henry Cawood (Scuttle) is thrilled to be going on another nautical adventure, this time “above” the sea! Some of his favorite past roles include: Flounder in THE LITTLE MERMAID, Pugsley in THE ADDAMS FAMILY, Colin in THE SECRET GARDEN, Jimmy Bean in POLLYANNA, JoJo in SEUSSICAL THE MUSICAL, Little Boy in RAGTIME, Billy in THE PROMISE, and Oliver in OLIVER, Opera Credits include Amahl in AMAHL AND THE NIGHT VISITORS. Henry is a homeschooled 8th-grader who also studies tap with Gracey Tune, Abi Abel, and Eli Holley at Arts 5th Avenue. She has seen it over 35 times and played the original VHS until it turned black and white. Some of her favorite roles have been Stewer in CHICKENS, Tzeitel in FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, and Tiger Lily in PETER PAN. Danielle Duda (Maid/Ensemble) is a beginner in musical theatre, but has participated in several shows in a dance ensemble. She is a junior and has been homeschooled for the past four years. She has enjoyed the classes she has taken at Artisan that include Broadway Bound 2 and Broadway Jazz. She is enrolled in Jazz & Tap for the spring. She is currently a voice student of Noël Clark. She is excited for her take-off into musical theatre!

Michelle Dulin (Andrina/Princess) is an accomplished dancer in her 12th year of training. Her dance credits include Swanhilda in COPPELIA, Tinkerbell in PETER PAN, and Alice in ALICE IN WONDERLAND, all with Youth Ballet of Texas. Artisan credits include Turning Woman in LES MISERABLES and Belladova in PHANTOM. Michelle plans to study Musical Theatre in college. Connie Gaddy-George (Scuttle) is absolutely positoovly pleased to be performing at Artisan Center Theater again. She has performed as Sylvia from ALL SHOOK UP (ACT) and Sister Robert Anne in NUNSENSE (ACT). You may also recognize her from PIRATE QUEEN, THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY and PHANTOM (ACT), and roles in other theatres around the metroplex. Connie is also Artisan’s very own Costume Shop Assistant, and a substitute teacher with HEB ISD. Parker Gerdes (Ariel) is Above the sea excited to participate in this rendition of THE LITTLE MERMAID! She has been involved in theatre for 8 years and some of her favorite roles include Lorraine in ALL SHOOK UP, Madame Thenardier in LES MISÉRABLES, and Gertrude McFuzz in SEUSSICAL THE MUSICAL. She would like to thank her vocal coach, Cody Walker, for preparing her for the role, Reid Horton for his patience with her busy schedule, and Sophie Mings for taking the best notes during rehearsals. Devon Harper (Ensemble) is a Music Education major at Tarleton State University from Fort Worth, Texas. Her hobbies include performing, travel, and watching football. She has participated in many jazz concerts with the Tarleton Jazz Band, including touring Italy. Some Tarleton theater credits include SHREK THE MUSICAL, THE DROWSY CHAPERONE, THE SOUND OF MUSIC, and THE BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE IN TEXAS. She plans to graduate in May and pursue a master's degree in vocal performance.

Past shows include, GUYS AND DOLLS, WEST SIDE STORY, ONCE UPON A MATTRESS, and BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. Favorite roles include, Gertrude McFuzz in SEUSSICAL, Annie in ANNIE, Ida in HONK. Mackenzie is part of the worship team at Harvest Church and is a leader in the Student Ministry. Noah Horton (Ensemble) is excited to return to the Artisan Stage. He was previously in CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG and worked behind the scenes on PHANTOM. Other roles include, Coach Bolton in HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL and Ensemble in JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH. He is active in Show Choir at Trinity Springs Middle School and is a two-time recipient of Best Male Vocalist at regional show choir competitions. Sherry has been performing since she was a child in school and church productions and various community theaters. She even met her husband of 13 years in their church drama group. Lindsey McCallum (Flotsam) is a sophomore at Grand Prairie Fine Arts Academy and is excited to take the stage as Ursula’s sidekick this time around. She has been in THE LITTLE MERMAID twice before in the Children’s Theater. First appearing in the ensemble in 2013, and again in 2016 as Ursula. You may have also seen her more recently in THE PIRATE QUEEN, BUDDY HOLLY, LES MISÉRABLES, or ANNE OF GREEN GABLES. This is her 8th Main Stage production, after 4 years of Children’s Theater shows. She would like to thank Reid Horton, Natalie Burkhart, Margaret Wilkerson, and her teachers at GPFAA for supporting her through her endeavors.

Travis Miller (Grimsby) is excited for the opportunity to work with this wonderful cast. This is his twentieth production at Artisan Theater, appearing most recently in MARY POPPINS. Travis appeared in the movie ‘Leap of Faith’ and is a veteran of the stage. Some of his favorite roles have been Tevye in FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, Jacob in JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT, Daddy Warbucks in ANNIE, Benjamin Franklin in 1776, and Big Daddy in CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF.

Sophie Mings (Ariel) is thrilled to have the opportunity to reprise her favorite role in this production of THE LITTLE MERMAID. She has performed in over 30 productions on the Artisan stage and has loved every minute of it! Sophie would like to thank her Mom and Dad for always believing in her dreams of being a performer; also Natalie Burkhart, Noël Clark, and the Blair’s for guiding her on how achieve those dreams. Sophie is a high school senior, and she plans to attend the University of Central Oklahoma in the fall to receive a bachelor’s degree in Musical Theatre.

Sheridan Monroe (Sebastian) is thrilled to be back at Artisan Theater. He was last seen as Sweaty Eddie in SISTER ACT and played Poppa in STARLIGHT EXPRESS. Other roles include Chad in HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL, Judah in JOSEPH...DREAMCOAT, Scarecrow in THE WIZ, and many others. Monroe has also been seen as Mayor Pickett, The Witch Doctor, and Mr. Snickers in various Six Flags Over Texas productions. Monroe hopes to study in New York and train to one day be on Broadway soon.

Alonna Neyhart (Ensemble) is excited to be performing once again at Artisan. Alonna had a great time performing in PINKALICIOUS as Pinkalicious, in ANNIE as Tessie, and ONE MAGIC KISS, SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS as Lady Buttercup, all at Artisan. Alonna was part of the Resident Company and performed with Kids Who Care all over Texas and in several venues in New York. Alonna would like to thank her family and friends and all the teachers and directors who have given her tremendous support. DJ Neyhart (Maid/Ensemble) is thrilled to be making her debut at Artisan Theater. DJ has been singing and performing since the age of 2. Some of her favorite performances include CINDERELLA as The Fairy Godmother and SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS. DJ enjoys singing, performing, reading, traveling, homeschooling her daughter, and spending time with her children, Nick, Ally, and Alonna. After surviving spinal surgery, being in a wheelchair for 8 weeks, and learning to walk on her own, after over a year of therapy, DJ wants to thank God and her family, especially her daughter, Alonna, for supporting her and inspiring her to join the Artisan Family to continue her dream.

Mudibu Rita Nsumbu (Ursula) is happy to be returning to Artisan Theater Center for her third show. Previously, she starred as Carlotta in PHANTOM, and Mrs. Banks in MARY POPPINS. Rita graduated from Hardin Simmons University in 2013 with a B.A. in Music. Since then, she has performed at the Casa Manana Theatre; the Meyerson, as a member of the Dallas Symphony Chorus, and the Irving Chorale. Currently, she is a commissioned singer for Royal Lane Baptist Church in Dallas.

Camryn Elizabeth Price (Ensemble) is delighted to return to the Artisan Center Theater Main Stage where she recently performed as an orphan in ANNIE. A few of Camryn’s favorite roles have been in SEUSSICAL, HONK JR., and BEAUTY AND THE BEAST JR., at The Firehouse Theatre and THE LION, THE WITCH, AND THE WARDROBE at Theatre Arlington. Camryn is a fifth-grader who loves science, traveling with her family, and is looking forward to attending Grand Prairie Fine Arts Academy next year!

Lillian Rivas (Maid/Ensemble) is a student at Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts where she sings in The Academy Singers and Singing Girls of Texas honor choirs. She enjoys community theater and has acted in numerous musicals including ANNE OF GREEN GABLES, HAIRSPRAY, CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG, WEST SIDE STORY, SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK, and SEUSSICAL. Mark Scott (King Triton) is fired up to be in this role. He is a veteran of Artisan’s Main Stage, having been seen most recently in PHANTOM, THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY, and SCROOGE. Mark has really enjoyed working with Reid Horton in BIG FISH and PHANTOM, and excited to be under his direction in THE LITTLE MERMAID. Mark would like to thank the administration and students at Keller Central High School for their patience, support, and encouragement during these weeks of rehearsals and shows and his wife and cats for doing without him for 2 months. Laura Smolik (Aquata/Princess) is thrilled to be making her Artisan stage debut. A proud member of AGMA, previous roles include Rona Lisa Peretti in 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE, Rapunzel in INTO THE WOODS, and the title role in CINDERELLA, among others. Holding a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from Southern Methodist University and a Master of Music in Voice Performance from University of Southern California, Laura made her professional debut as Dritter Knabe in DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE at Houston Grand Opera. Some favorite operatic roles include Miss Wordsworth in ALBERT HERRING, Despina in COSI FAN TUTTE, Countess Almaviva in LE NOZZE DI FIGARO, and Louise in the West Coast Premier of THE ENGLISH CAT. Locally, Laura appeared as the featured soloist for both the groundbreaking ceremony of the George W. Bush Presidential Center & Library and the grand opening celebration of the Strauss Square at the AT&T Performing Arts Center, and can now be seen performing around Dallas with Collins Classical. Kimberly Sypert (Maid/Ensemble) is excited to be submerging into the deep for her 4th Artisan production. Previous roles include Mrs. Berry in ANNE OF GREEN GABLES; Mrs. Brill in MARY POPPINS, and Ensemble in THE PIRATE QUEEN. Kimberly has also previously performed in shows at ICT Mainstage, Starlight Performing Arts Center, and Flower Mound Performing Arts Center. When not playing on stage, Kimberly is a mother and an Educational Diagnostician with HEB ISD. Roxi Taylor (Atina/Princess) is excited to be back in Dallas and doing her first musical theater show (and her first show at Artisan) since taking a two-year sabbatical. During this time, she worked at the Himalayan Institute, a yoga retreat center in Pennsylvania. Previously, Roxi studied Musical Theater through Collin College. She has done many productions onstage and backstage at the Stage Door Theater, the Alternative Comedy Theater, Rover Dramawerks, the Stone Cottage Theater, and Frisco Area Children's Theater. She is also a licensed cosmetologist who works at a premier salon in Dallas. She uses her extensive design knowledge of hair and makeup to facilitate behind-the-scenes work. Roxi lives with her dog, Ody, and her cat, Nora.

Cody Walker (Eric) by day, serves as the new Associate Artistic Director for Artisan as well as Director of Education. Gabriela Yarbrough (Flounder) is thrilled to be making her Artisan Center Theater debut! She is an eighth-grader at Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts and a member of Singing Girls of Texas Training Choir. Some of her favorite roles include Shawanda in ELF JR and Dot in HONK JR. Gabriela enjoys playing her ukulele and tap dancing. She would like to thank her family and friends for their constant support.

Reid Horton (Director/Pilot) is extremely humbled and honored to be able to make his Artisan directing debut with the amazing cast and production team of THE LITTLE MERMAID. Reid is the NextGen Pastor at Harvest Church and is grateful for the encouragement and support from his church family. Onstage credits include Edward Bloom in BIG FISH, Caractacus Potts in CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG, and Cholet in PHANTOM at Artisan Center Theater, GEORGE M! at Thalian Hall, INTO THE WOODS, BRIARPATCH, and 7 years in Raleigh, North Carolina’s critically acclaimed version of A CHRISTMAS CAROL at Theatre in the Park. Reid has directed many school stage productions, created and directed a music theater camp in Oklahoma City. He also wrote and directed a large cast in 2 years of a TWIN LIVING CHRISTMAS tree production at his church in Raleigh. Reid is so grateful to share this opportunity with you.

Valerie WalkerValerie Walker (Choreographer) is thrilled to be choreographing for Artisan Center Theater! A Los Angeles native, Valerie was immersed in the arts from a young age, having appeared in TV commercials, Films, as well as performing in professional musical theatre since age 15. Most recently, Valerie was choreographing at Interlochen Center for the Arts in their mainstage summer productions of EVITA and CATCH ME IF YOU CAN. Other favorite choreography credits include: THE WIZ (San Diego Kroc Center) and GREASE (Pepperdine University). Favorite performance venues: Broadway National Tour of 42nd STREET, Holland America Line Ships, Tuacahn Amphitheatre, Pioneer Theatre Company, Fullerton Civic Light Opera, Jackson Hole Playhouse, Cabrillo Music Theatre, and working as a guest soloist in Macau, China. Other roles include: Audrey in LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, Sandy in GREASE, and Ariel in FOOTLOOSE. Valerie and her husband, Cody, founded Triple Threat Performing Arts Academy and continue to teach in all three areas; voice, acting, and dance. BFA in Music/Dance/Theatre from Brigham Young University. Love to Cody and her three amazing children, Ava, Jesse, and Eli.
Richard GwozdzH. Richard Gwozdz (Music Director) is excited in working another musical at Artisan Center Theater. Played piano since Mom slapped him at 8 years old. Sang with the Texas Boy’s Choir for President Kennedy, Ed Sullivan Show, Perry Como Show, Grammy Award recordings, and toured the United States and Europe. Music Director at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church in Dallas, Maintenance Secretary for USPS, Pianist at Edelweiss German Restaurant, and won the 2016 DFW Theater Critics Forum Orchestral Conducting Award. Breauna BurgessBreauna Burgess (Stage Manager) is excited to be stage managing her first ever Artisan production, THE LITTLE MERMAID! She is no stranger to the art, having most recently been seen as Stage Manager of Grand Prairie Fine Arts Academy's production of WILEY AND THE HAIRY MAN and Assistant Director of HEATHERS: THE MUSICAL. She would like to thank her beautiful mother for providing support throughout this process and Reid Horton and DeeAnn Blair for the opportunities she's been given.
Eric LuckieEric Luckie (Set Designer), B.F.A, has been designing and building sets for the Artisan’s Children's Stage and Second Stage for a year. He has also designed and built many of the set pieces on the Main Stage. It has been a joy to bring to life the magical world of THE LITTLE MERMAID. As a fictive artist, his work centers around the playful and whimsical. “Special Thanks to my wife Amy, (props master) and my build team, Mark Harle and Daniel Orges.”
