Sarah Boyd (Jeanne/Fairtone) has been singing all her life, but only got into theatre a few years ago. Her most notable roles have been the Baker's Wife in INTO THE WOODS, Lady Larken in ONCE UPON A MATTRESS, and Jo March in LITTLE WOMEN. She was also in the 2015 TMEA All-State Mixed Choir. She is now a music major at UNT, and hopes to be a music teacher after she graduates.

Greg Burton (Dave/Judge) is happy to be back at Artisan Center Theater playing the parts of Lemon and Judge Heffstetner. He has been working at Artisan almost since it’s inception. His favorite roles include Jinx in FOREVER PLAID, Chauvelin in THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL, the Captain in THE SOUND OF MUSIC, and many others. Ashtyn Campbell (Margy) was last seen at Artisan in SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN as Zelda Zanders/Featured Dancer. Since then, she has been teaching dance and directing/choreographing her own numbers. Her favorite roles include Ruth in Artisan’s SEVEN BRIDES… BROTHERS and being in the Dance Corps in Gateway Church’s TRUTHICAL! Outside of performing, she enjoys writing, cosmetology, traveling, exercising, cooking, and being a cafe’ barista. Come see her in CHASING LIGHTS at Gateway Church, December 16-18th!

Jessica Chick (Vivian/Fairtone) is excited to be in her first show here at Artisan. She has been a chorus member of The Dallas Opera appearing in LA TRAVIATA and AIDA. She has performed in numerous shows at Six Flags Over Texas. Her favorite roles include Mrs. Astor in TITANIC THE MUSICAL, Maddie in CARRIE THE MUSICAL, Mimi in GUYS AND DOLLS, Wendy in THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD, and the show, KISS ME KATE. Jessica has also been a choreographer at theaters across DFW. She would like to thank her husband, family and friends for all their support.

Taylor Conlon (Evelyn) is honored to make her Artisan Theater debut in STATE FAIR. Among many roles at Covenant Christian Academy, Taylor has played Mrs. Harcourt in ANYTHING GOES and Polly Baker in CRAZY FOR YOU. Taylor is in her ninth year of choir and hopes to major in musical theatre in college. Angela Destro (Melissa) was last seen as as an Ensemble member/Concession Vendor in STATE FAIR. Prior to that, she was Penelope Musgrove in PERSUASION (Stolen Shakespeare Guild). Previous roles include her work at Pocket Sandwich Theatre: The Lady in THE TIME MACHINE and Fred’s Wife in EBENEZER SCROOGE. She has also performed opera roles: Witches Chorus in MACBETH and The Sandman and Dew Fairy in HANSEL AND GRETEL. Though she loves being on stage, you are just as likely to see her working back stage thanks to her training in technical theatre and set design from UT Austin, BA Drama. Angela thanks her husband for his patience as she once again pursues her first love.

Kelvin Dilks (Dave/Judge) will be doing his seventh show at the Artisan Theater with STATE FAIR. Audiences may remember seeing him most recently playing Mr. MacAffee in BYE BYE BIRDIE or Burl in SMOKE ON THE MOUNTAIN and SANDERS FAMILY CHRISTMAS. He currently teaches Government at Richland High School and plans to retire in January, after 31 years in education.

Julina Durling (Maureen) is thrilled to be returning to the Artisan stage for her favorite Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, STATE FAIR. In her spare time, she enjoys painting, swimming, making music, Netflixing, and Pinterest. Leanna Hurt (Pauline/Balloon Vendor) is making her first appearance in a musical… EVER! Recently seen as The Mayor's Wife in BYE BYE BIRDIE here at Artisan Center Theater, and as the Bird Woman in MARY POPPINS with Grand Prairie Arts Council, both being her favorite roles. Other acting credits include HELLO, DOLLY, WIZARD OF OZ, INTO THE WOODS, SHREK, YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, and OLIVER all with GPAC. She stepped onto the stage two years ago, fell in love, and her life will never be the same. Jonathan Kennedy (Hank/Bartender) is excited to be performing again at Artisan. He has done many shows at this theatre and is proud to be part of the Artisan family. Tamera Miller (Lois Metcalf) loves acting at Artisan, and has done many shows here. You might have seen her as Morgan le Fey in CAMELOT, Vi Moore in FOOTLOOSE, and Matilda in ALL SHOOK UP. She won’t say she’s competitive, but she did win Best of Show the first time she entered the State Fair of Texas.

Travis Miller (Hank/Bartender) is excited to be working with John Wilkerson and this wonderful cast. This will be his 14th production at Artisan Center Theater, having recently played the Delivery Man in BAREFOOT IN THE PARK. Some of his favorite roles have been Tevye in FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, Benjamin Franklin in 1776, Rosco Dexter in SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN, Big Daddy in CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF, and Daddy Warbucks in ANNIE.

Maddie Norwood (Dorothy) is a 15-year-old singer and actress. This is her third Main Stage show at Artisan, after previously playing Nancy in BYE BYE BIRDIE and Ensemble in CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG. She is also now starring in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST JR at Artisan Children's Theater!

Adam Richard (Lem/Shooting Gallery Vendor) is making his theatre debut with STATE FAIR. He comes from a choral background that includes choir all through grade school, college and at church. He is currently an active member of the First Baptist Church, Euless Choir, Praise Team, and First Euless Fine Arts Academy. Some of Adam's favorite choral experiences have been Texas Baptist All-State Choir and touring with Moscow Chamber Orchestra, along with his university choir. Everett Shirey (Wayne) is thrilled to be a part of STATE FAIR at Artisan. Jordan recently enjoyed a summer-long tour with Student Life on their drama team, All Things To All People. When not onstage, Jordan loves narrating audiobooks, crafting, and hunting. Diann Wells (Lois Metcalf) is so happy to have been cast as Mrs. Metcalf in STATE FAIR. It is an honor and pleasure for her to be associated with so many talented actors and directors. Diann has performed in several plays at Artisan Theater including her favorites: Aunt March in LITTLE WOMEN and The Jailer in THE FORGOTTEN CAROLS. She is blessed to have the support of her family, including, 20 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She would like to thank her husband, Thurston Wells, who has spent so many years sharing his time and talents to the construction of the building and the sets at Artisan Theater. He is her greatest support and her hero.

Ethan Wells (Harry/Uncle Sam/Stralenko) is delighted to be making his Artisan debut. His favorite productions, were ONCE UPON A MATTRESS, ANATOMY OF GRAY, and A PIECE OF MY HEART (Birdville High School). His favorite role was Crutch in ANATOMY OF GRAY. He is currently learning guitar and loves to watch films in his spare time. He would like to thank God, his mom and dad, and Ryan Gosling.

Shafer Wilkerson (Pat) is excited to be making his debut at Artisan! He has been a singer, dancer, and actor since a very young age. Notable credits include performing as Cornelius in HELLO DOLLY, and THE WIZARD OF OZ. Shafer was a part of Moving Ground Dance Company for some time, and then continued his education as a Vocal Performance major at Baylor University. He is currently focusing on recording his debut album ‘Outliars’ and auditioning for NBC's ‘The Voice’ next season. He would like to thank his family and friends for the incredible support and understanding they give time and time again.

Grace Wilson (Violet) is excited to be playing Violet in STATE FAIR. Her favorite roles have been Charlotte in CHARLOTTE’S WEB, an Elf in MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET, and Jemima in CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG. She has been in theatre for seven years and enjoys gymnastics and drawing in her free time. She would like to thank God for all His blessings and her family for support and encouragement.

Josh Wilson (Wayne) is a sophomore at Crowley High School. This is his first Main Stage production, although has has been performing at Artisan Children's Theater for 4 years. His favorite roles at Artisan have been the Sun King in A MIDSUMMER’S MYSTERY MAGICAL MUSICAL, Lion in THE WIZARD OF OZ, Rapunzel's Prince in INTO THE WOODS, JR, and Pinocchio in SHREK, to name a few! Other exciting shows he's enjoyed; BIG RIVER and JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT at Plaza Theater, and has also performed in shows with Kids Who Care at Scott Theatre, and Broadway Kid Starz in NYC. Josh enjoys playing football, singing and dancing. He is so thankful for this opportunity and hopes this experience will help him achieve his dream of having a career in musical theatre someday!



John Wilkerson (Director/Abel) has directed BAREFOOT IN THE PARK and BYE BYE BIRDIE for Artisan this year. He has also directed WHITE CHRISTMAS, MY FAIR LADY, BRIGADOON, PHANTOM, PROPOSALS, SWING, LES MISERABLES, CATS, SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN, and GUYS AND DOLLS. John has produced and directed dozens of shows. As an actor, John has appeared all across the United States, including Broadway, touring companies, and regional theaters. Locally, he played Emile de Becque in Dallas Theatre Center’s SOUTH PACIFIC, for which he received a Leon Rabin Award nomination. He sends his love to his wife, actress Margaret Shafer, sons Michael and Shafer, daughter, Marcia, and grandchildren, Payton, Jackson, and Lilly.

Rian SlayRian Slay (Assistant Director) is thrilled to be a part of STATE FAIR! After appearing onstage for her last couple of shows, she is ecstatic to be back behind the director’s table again. Favorite past productions (both on and off stage) include HARVEY, THE FREEDOM FACTOR, GUYS AND DOLLS, WHITE CHRISTMAS, BIG FISH, and YOU CAN’T STOP THE BEAT. Carla WicksCarla Wicks (Stage Manager) is pleased to be a part of this great musical. This will be her fourth show to stage manage. She has also been in seven shows over the past two years, most of which were with her daughter, Nicole. She wants to praise God for this creative gifting and her husband, Ken, for being so supportive.

Amy Elizabeth Jones (Vivian/Fairtone/Choreographer) is delighted to be a part of STATE FAIR! She most recently created, choreographed, and appeared in the special event, YOU CAN'T STOP THE BEAT. Amy also enjoys hosting music specials on KERA 13 PBS. Richard GwozdzH. Richard Gwozdz (Music Director) is excited about working yet on another musical at Artisan Center Theater. Currently, he is music director at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church in Dallas, consumer affairs for the USPS, and pianist at Edelweis, in Fort Worth. Richard has played the organ at CHL Hockey Games, fashion shows, beauty pageants, NHL Exhibition Hockey Games, the USA vs USSR Hockey Game on ESPN, Celebrity Hockey Games, Texas Ranger Baseball Games, and Dallas Tornado's Indoor/Outdoor Soccer Games. Alex EddinsAlexandra Eddins (Costume Designer) is tickled pink to be working on this show! Alex holds a BFA in Musical Theatre Performance from Abilene Christian University and received a Betty Lynn Buckley Award for excellence in costume design. Favorite design projects include ARSENIC AND OLD LACE (Artisan), NEXT TO NORMAL (ACU), and MACBETH (Abilene-Shakespeare-Festival). She’s currently preparing to costume THE 39 STEPS! When she’s not immersed in the world of theatre, Alex enjoys swimming, murder-mysteries, and wearing animal print. Hi Mom!!!

Wendy Searcy-WoodeWendy Searcy-Woode (Scenic & Set Designer) is the Scenic Design/Build Director here at the Artisan Center Theater. Wendy has designed and built extravagant sets for Artisan for CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG, BYE BYE BIRDIE, BIG FISH, FOREVER PLAID, ARSENIC AND OLD LACE, and most recently, STARLIGHT EXPRESS. With 25 years of theatre experience on and off the stage, she brings her passion and is completely grateful to be doing what she loves most.
