Donna Cates (Sister Mary Hubert) is excited to be back on the Artisan stage after an almost 4-year absence. Her favorite roles at Artisan include Dolly Levi in HELLO DOLLY, Donna in SWING, Constance in THE FORGOTTEN CAROLS, and Sister Mary Regina in a previous Artisan production of NUNSENSE. Donna would like to thank her parents for all their love and support. She'd also like to thank her awesome kids, Tevin and Taryn, who are the light of her life! As always, thanks to God, for all His blessings!

Jessica Chick (Sister Mary Leo) is excited to be in her second show here at Artisan. Previously she was Vivian in STATE FAIR. She has been a chorus member of The Dallas Opera, appearing in LA TRAVIATA and AIDA. She has performed in numerous shows at Six Flags Over Texas. Her favorite roles include Chorus Member in LES MISERABLES, which was nominated for Best Musical by the Column Awards,  Mrs. Astor in TITANIC THE MUSICAL, Maddie in CARRIE THE MUSICAL, Mimi in GUYS AND DOLLS, Wendy in THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD, and the show KISS ME KATE. She would like to thank her husband, family and friends for all their support, and Connie and Kelvin for the opportunity to perform in this amazingly fun show!

Favorite Artisan appearances include Mrs. Watson in WHITE CHRISTMAS, Mrs. Paroo in THE MUSIC MAN, Marmee in LITTLE WOMEN, and Corrie ten Boom in THE HIDING PLACE. Other favorite roles include Patsy Cline in ALWAYS…PATSY CLINE, Annie Oakley in ANNIE GET YOUR GUN, Mother Superior in NUNSENSE II, and Dolly Biddle in THE KITCHEN WITCHES.

Connie George (Sister Robert Anne) is happy to be playing the part of Sister Robert Anne. You may recognize Connie from other shows at Artisan like ALL SHOOK UP, where she played Sylvia and SONGS FROM SHOWS YOU’LL NEVER SEE AT ARTISAN. Connie loves community theater and the connections she has made through theater. She would like to thank her family for supporting her while she fuels her passion for the arts again, and God for the talents He gave her to share. She would also like to thank anyone reading this bio, "Without you there would be no show; a great show is often the direct result of an incredible audience." So if you enjoy the show, go ahead and applaud yourself too.

Jackie Holt (Sister Mary Regina) is SOOO excited to reprise the role of Reverend Mother in NUNSENSE - her most favorite role!!  NUNSENSE is habit forming! Thanks to Connie, Kelvin and DeeAnn for allowing this. She is coming directly from performing in SCROOGE THE MUSICAL, which she considered to be a warm-up for this show. Jackie has a BA in Accounting and a BFA/Performance. She is married to the best man in the world, is the mother of six, grandmother of six, and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She is very blessed to get to work with the incredible and talented women of both casts and the great directing staff, scene designer, Wendy, and the support crew. You normally see her as house manager here at Artisan—but in the past she has been an Amen Lady in SMOKE IN THE MOUNTAIN, Sarah in THE FORGOTTEN CAROLS, Mrs Whatsit in A WRINKLE IN TIME, Mrs. Medford in THE SECRET GARDEN, or Miss Hannigan in ANNIE. Maddie Norwood (Sister Mary Leo) is super excited to be cast in her first principal role at Artisan! She started doing shows here in March when she played Nancy in BYE BYE BIRDIE. Since then, she has been in 6 other shows including NUNSENSE. Her favorite roles have been Dorothy in STATE FAIR and Punch and Judy Man in SCROOGE. When she's not doing shows, she enjoys working with Buddies Place Cat Rescue and being a sophomore in high school. She would like to thank Kelvin and Connie for this amazing experience and to her double, Jessica for being awesome!

Melissa Tillman (Sister Robert Anne/Choreographer) is used to working around saints, having just completed her 3rd season working for Saint Nicolas! Being Robert Anne is a habit she doesn’t want to break (This is her third time!), especially with such wonderful sisters at her side, or in Rev’s case, on her back! Melissa is an accomplished actress, choreographer, and crafter. Favorite roles include Adelaidein in GUYS AND DOLLS, Svetlana in CHESS, Lucy in YOU’RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN, Hattie in KISS ME KATE, Flannery in THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, and, of course, Sr Robert Anne!

Abby Tree (Sister Mary Amnesia) was born and raised in Fresno, California. Abby is a mother of four. Favorite stage roles that she has performed are Matilda Hyde in ALL SHOOK UP and Roz in MOON OVER BUFFALO. Favorite life roles are Stay-at-home Mom and Sister. She homeschools her children and even gave birth to them at home. Her best friends, other than her husband, are her four sisters.

Connie Sanchez (Director/Sister Amnesia) has directed 100+ productions. Her Artisan directing debut was THE MIRACLE WORKER, spring of 2016. A 1983 Texas Wesleyan graduate, Connie cherishes her 30-year teaching career (26 years at Haltom High School) in Birdville ISD where she taught theatre (15 yrs) and English (15 yrs). An Artisan actor as Sister Amnesia in the 2005 production of NUNSENSE, Connie is excited to perform this role again, and to be co-directing with long-time friend, Kelvin Dilks. Connie would like to thank the production staff for their help, the cast for their devotion, and her husband of 33 years, Reyes, for his support. “Nunsense is Habit Forming.”

Kelvin DilksKelvin Dilks (Director) This will be Kelvin Dilks’ eighth show he has been involved with at Artisan Theater. However, for NUNSENSE, he serves as a second director. Kelvin taught theatre with Connie Sanchez at Haltom High School in the early 1990s. Their shows would appear on the Main Stage of the State and International Thespian Society Festivals and their UIL shows advanced every year they worked as a team. Most recent appearances include Judge Heppenstahl in STATE FAIR, Mr. MacAffee in BYE BYE BIRDIE, and Burl in SMOKE ON THE MOUNTAIN.
Richard GwozdzRichard Gwozdz (Music Director) is the music director at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church Dallas. He was the organist for the Pope in San Antonio, technical music mix director for the Pope’s visit in Colorado. He attended St. Andrew’s Catholic School/Nolan High School. Was the pianist for Nolan Catholic High School Choir/St. Andrew’s Catholic Church Choir, organist for St. Andrew’s Catholic Church/Carswell AFB Chapel, and director/organist for St. Timothy’s Anglican Catholic Church, and has played church music for over 54 years. Now he is helping nuns with a variety show for a burial….that’s NUNSENSE!
Wendy Searcy-WoodeWendy Searcy-Woode (Scenic & Set Designer) is in her second season as the Scenic Design/Build Director here at Artisan Center Theater. Wendy designed and built all the Artisan Main Stage sets for 2016 season including,  STATE FAIR, STARLIGHT EXPRESS, CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG, BYE BYE BIRDIE, BIG FISH, FOREVER PLAID, ARSENIC AND OLD LACE, among others. For the Children’s Theater she designed sets for THE CAT IN THE HAT, THE LITTLE MERMAID, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, and others. With 25 years of theatre experience on and off the stage, she brings her passion and is completely grateful to be doing what she loves most. She would like to thank her family for their continued love and support.
