Ava AmlongAva Amlong (Splasher/Scab) is a senior at Keller High School. She is so excited to take part in her first show at Artisan! Some of her favorite roles include Janet Van De Graaff in THE DROWSY CHAPERONE, Mrs. Millenium in URINETOWN, and Mayzie La Bird in SEUSSICAL. She enjoys photography, playing piano, and hiking. NEWSIES is Ava’s favorite show and she is so grateful to be a part of it. She would like to thank Cody for this amazing opportunity to work with such a wonderful cast and crew.
Harmony AragonesHarmony Aragones (Jo Jo) is so happy to be taking part of her first main stage show! Some past credits include: Tiger Lily in PETER PAN JR. and Mrs. Beauregarde in WILLY WONKA JR. When Harmony isn’t performing, she loves to sing, read, and take naps wherever she can. She is so excited for NEWSIES, and the choreography that takes place within. She would like to thank Cody for this opportunity, her family, friends, and everyone who got her where she is today.
Hayden BeatyHayden Beaty (Mush) is delighted to return to Artisan’s Main Stage. Some of his favorite previous roles include Chef Louis in LITTLE MERMAID, JR., Nikko in WIZARD OF OZ, and Simba in LION KING, JR. When not at the theater, he enjoys playing sports and performing with his Hip Hop Crew. He would like to thank Cody and Noël for helping him develop has a performer and his family and friends for their continued support (and rides back and forth to the theater).
Megan BradyMegan Brady (Medda Larkin) is thrilled to be back at Artisan Theater, playing the stylish Medda Larkin. To truly get into character, she felt it necessary to elevate her own style with many retail purchases. It has made all the difference in her performance. Megan is grateful for her loving and supportive husband who ignores the bill, and her three beautiful children who sacrifice time with mom. Some of her favorite roles include the Wicked Witch of the West in THE WIZARD OF OZ and Mrs. Hopkins in MY FAIR LADY.
Jacob CatheyJacob Cathey (Race) is thrilled to be a part of his first show at Artisan! His favorite roles include Danny Zuko in GREASE and Harold Hill in THE MUSIC MAN. He enjoys photography and playing the guitar. Being in NEWSIES has been a dream of his since he saw it in 2015. He would like to thank Cody for giving him the incredible opportunity to be in his dream production, with this awesome cast. Romans 1:16.
Harrison CawoodHarrison Cawood (Elmer/Goon) is thrilled to be a part of one of his favorite musicals, NEWSIES! Some of his favorite past roles include: Thenardier in LES MISÉRABLES, Cat in the Hat in SEUSSICAL, Buddy in ELF, Beast in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, Frog in A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD, and Kurt in SOUND OF MUSIC. Harrison has studied tap for six years with the fabulous Abi Abel, Gracey Tune, and Eli Holley at Arts 5th Avenue. Harrison is a senior who loves all things baseball and he is the starting varsity catcher with the PT Warriors. He thanks his amazing family for all of their encouragement and support! Hayden CawoodHayden Cawood (Oscar Delancey/Pit Singer) is thrilled to be a part of one of his favorite musicals, NEWSIES! Some of his favorite past roles include: Shrek in SHREK, Genie in ALADDIN, JR, Alfie in MY FAIR LADY, Horton in SEUSSICAL, JR, Jean Valjean in LES MISÉRABLES. He is currently a sophomore at Dallas Baptist University majoring in music with an emphasis in worship arts and vocal performance. Henry CawoodHenry Cawood (Finch) is thrilled to be a part of one of his favorite musicals, NEWSIES! Some of his past favorite roles include: Pugsley in THE ADDAMS FAMILY, Flounder and Scuttle in THE LITTLE MERMAID, JoJo in SEUSSICAL THE MUSICAL, Colin in THE SECRET GARDEN, the little boy in RAGTIME, Billy in THE PROMISE, and Oliver in OLIVER. Opera credits include Amahl in AMAHL AND THE NIGHT VISITORS and HANSEL AND GRETEL with the Fort Worth Opera. Henry has studied tap for six years with Gracey Tune, Abi Abel, Eli Holley and Cody Walker. Tanner CockrumTanner Cockrum (Davey/Spot Conlon/Scab/Goon) is thrilled to continue performing awesome shows at Artisan! Most recently at Artisan he has been in WEST SIDE STORY (Tony), CATS (Mungojerrie/Macavity), and LES MISÉRABLES (Marius). He is currently a 9th-grade theatre student at Grand Prairie Fine Arts Academy. Thanks to Cody for everything he has taught him through this show and for casting him as Davey. Lizzy DavisLizzy Davis (Jo Jo) is ecstatic to be in her favorite show NEWSIES! Lizzy is a sophomore at Arlington High school and spends her time cheerleading, playing violin, with friends, singing, and at rehearsals. Her most recent shows have been Electra in CATS and Princess Tiger Lily in PETER PAN. She thanks the best parents in the world, her friends, her amazing and convenient best friend neighbors, God, and the her phenomenal cast mates and now life long friends!
Michelle DulinMichelle Dulin (Buttons/Bowery Beauty/Nun) is an accomplished dancer in her 13th year of training. Her dance credits include Swanhilda in COPPELIA and Tinkerbell in PETER PAN with Youth Ballet of Texas. Artisan credits include Victoria in CATS, Dream Laurey in OKLAHOMA, Silly Girl/Napkin in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, Andrina in THE LITTLE MERMAID, Pauline/Francisca in WEST SIDE STORY and Belladova in PHANTOM. Michelle plans to study Musical Theatre in college. She would like to thank Margaret Wilkerson for her vocal instruction and her parents for their love and support.
Alex FaughtAlex Faught (Tommy Boy/Darcy) is a former competitive gymnast and current gymnastics coach from Fort Worth, Texas. This is her third show at Artisan Center Theater, having previously performed as an Aerialist in TARZAN and as Mrs. Shelley in THE SECRET GARDEN. She is dedicating every performance to her grandmother, Carol-Lynn, who always gave her unwavering support to her grandchildren no matter what the endeavor. Alex is thrilled to be a Newsie, and can’t wait to hit the stage again!
Connie GeorgeConnie Gaddy-George (Nun/Bunsen) is so happy to return to the stage for her first performance since she injured herself during tech week of Artisan's THE LITTLE MERMAID. She keeps herself busy with 4 kids and her job in Artisan's costume shop doing laundry and repairs. Some of her favorite roles have included Sylvia in ALL SHOOK UP (Artisan), Meg in SHILOH RULES (ONSTAGE in Bedford), and Robert Anne in NUNSENSE (Artisan).
Kaleb GodwinKaleb Godwin (Albert) is thrilled to be in his second main stage show at Artisan. He is a sophomore at Grand Prairie Fine Arts Academy. His past credits include, GODSPELL, BULLETS OVER BROADWAY, THE MUSIC MAN, and THE OUTSIDERS (Darry Curtis). He enjoys playing piano, guitar, and writing. Matthew GrandMatthew Grand (Mush) is extremely excited to be performing in one of his favorite musicals, NEWSIES. This is Matthew's first performance on Artisan’s Main Stage. He played Shenzi in THE LION KING JR this summer at Artisan Children's Theater. Matthew has performed at several different venues in the DFW area and is thrilled to be working with Cody once again. Matthew loves the support he receives from his family and friends.
Marisa HamptonMarisa Hampton (Katherine Plumber) is so excited to be back at Artisan for NEWSIES, playing as Katherine Plumber! This is her fifth show at Artisan. Some of her favorite past roles include Dorothy in OZ, Deborah Sue in BYE BYE BIRDIE, and Viola in TWELFTH NIGHT. She would like to thank Cody Walker for giving her the amazing opportunity to play one of her dream roles. Devon HarperDevon Harper (Nun/Bunsen) is excited to return to Artisan for her third show since graduating with a BME from Tarleton State University. Previous shows include THE LITTLE MERMAID (Ensemble), SHREK THE MUSICAL (Dragon), WEST SIDE STORY (Minnie), and CATS (Etcetera/Jennyanydots). Devon would like to thank those who have always encouraged her love for theater. Michael HastyMichael Hasty (Morris Delancey/Pit Singer) is excited to be back for his 13th Main Stage musical at Artisan Center Theater. Past roles include Old Deuteronomy in CATS, Jud Fry in OKLAHOMA, Diesel in WEST SIDE STORY, Chef Louis in THE LITTLE MERMAID, and many more. Griffin HochGriffin Hoch (Crutchie) is an 8th-grader at Keller Middle School, and is thrilled to be back on Artisan’s Main Stage. His most memorable performances at Artisan have been CATS (Skimbleshanks) and LES MISÉRABLES (Thenardier). He has performed all over the DFW area, but he considers Artisan his home. He would like to thank God, and his voice, dance, and acting teachers, Noël Clark, Cody Walker, and Joe Sturgeon for all of their guidance and support.
Sadat HossainSadat Hossain (Jack Kelly) is excited to be playing one of his dream roles. Previous roles include THE TOXIC AVENGER (Toxie), THE LITTLE MERMAID (Prince Eric), HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME (Phoebus deMartin), and INTO THE WOODS (Cinderella’s Prince). He loves the message that this story conveys about coming together and standing up for those who don’t feel like they have a voice. Lastly, he’d like to thank his loved ones for their continued support as he pursues his passion.
Ryan JankeRyan Janke (Henry/Scab/Goon) has recently completed his first semester at Texas Christian University and is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in theatre. This is his first show at Artisan, and has been involved in several shows at Richland High School, including PETER AND THE STARCATCHER (as Lord Aster) and ANYTHING GOES (as Elijah Whitney). He would like to thank his family for their support and his girlfriend, Brett Robertson, for pushing him.
Christian JaussiChristian Jaussi (Seitz/Policeman/Guard/Pit Singer) is the newest addition to the Artisan family and to stage life all together. NEWSIES will be his first live stage performance ever. When not portraying a ruthless bull or uptight newspaper editor, he splits his commitment between his faith, being a husband and father of three boys, and his pursuit of a professional architectural degree at The University of Texas at Arlington. His free time is spent outdoors as much as possible, particularly in the mountains, where he enjoys anything from the quiet serene beauty of nature, to the life-threatening adrenaline rush of extreme sports. He is brought to the stage by his love of singing and the gentle cajolery of friends and family.
Brittany JenkinsBrittany Jenkins (Buttons/Bowery Beauty/Nun) is excited to be back on the Artisan stage! She recently choreographed CATS where she also made the occasional appearance as Victoria and Etcetera. Brittany is a graduate of Texas Tech and is currently the teaches and choreographs around the metroplex. Training includes, but is not limited to, Broadway Theatre Project and The Performing Arts Project where she was able to work with an array of broadway and film actors, casting directors, choreographers and other professionals in the Theatre and Dance world. Favorite roles include Maria in 9 TO 5, Silly Girl in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, and Ginger in TEXAS HAS A WHOREHOUSE IN IT. She excited to work with this cast of NEWSIES and hopes you enjoy the show!
Avery JonesAvery Jones (Pit Singer)
Jake JonesJake Jones (Pit Singer) is happy to be involved in this production as NEWSIES was the inspiration to his goals of pursuing theater. It led him to pursue his own first Disney touring production after seeing NEWSIES on tour as Jake toured with BEAUTY AND THE BEAST as Chip in 2016. He has played many other roles at Artisan since then, and hopes to continue to do so. Jake wishes to thank his family here at Artisan and at home!
Jimmy JonesJimmy Jones (Les) has dreamed of this role for 4 years now since seeing NEWSIES on tour in 2015. He made the choice then to make musical theater his focus and has since been in many great shows including CHITTY CHITTY, BANG BANG (Jeremy) and George in CURIOUS GEORGE. He just returned from playing the Hero Boy in a production of POLAR EXPRESS in North Carolina. He thanks Artisan for allowing him to grow up here and Mr. Cody for his wisdom and guidance.
Madison JonesMadison Jones (Pit Singer) is ecstatic to be in one of her favorite musicals with her three brothers. Some of her favorite roles include WEST SIDE STORY (Minnie, Jet Girl), CATS (Backstage Tech), and PINKIE AND BLUE (Inkling). Madison was recently in POLAR EXPRESS in N.C. She would like to thank Cody for giving her the opportunity to be in one of her favorite musicals, and her family for letting her do what she loves.
Matthew JonesMatthew Jones (Pit Singer) loves being in this show with his 3 older siblings. He is so happy to be singing in this show and learning from so many talented actors on the stage and with him. He has been in over a dozen shows at Artisan. He was recently featured on NCTM POLAR EXPRESS as the Know-It-All Kid. Matthew loves having friends and family attend Artisan productions. Thank you all!
James KazenJames Kazen (Snyder/Photographer) Originally hailing from the faraway land of McAllen, TX, James is doing his first show with Artisan and his second in the entire DFW area, having just been in ORDINARY PEOPLE (Lazenby) with Theatre Coppell. He is a first year at the University of Texas at Arlington, pursuing his Bachelor in Fine Arts in Performance, where he has also recently finished his successful first semester. Aaron KnightAaron Knight (Joseph Pulitzer) is making his fifth Artisan appearance after playing Curly in OKLAHOMA, Mr. Smith in MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS, Curtis in SISTER ACT, and Freddy in MY FAIR LADY. Brady LeeBrady Lee (Pit Singer) is so excited to be a part of NEWSIES! Artisan is his second home and doing shows here makes him so happy. This is Brady’s second Main Stage show with Artisan. The first was THE LITTLE MERMAID, where he was part of the ensemble, and it became one of his favorite shows. Other favorites roles so far have been Simba in THE LION KING JR, Smee in PETER PAN JR, and Horace in 101 DALMATIANS KIDS. Brady would like to thank his family for all of their support. Seth MaySeth May (Seitz/Policeman/Guard/Pit Singer/Spot Conlon/Scab/Goon) is an Energy/Building Code Inspector for Metrocode Analysis and Senior at UT Arlington, finishing his B.S. in Biological Chemistry. NEWSIES is one of his favorite shows and he’s just grateful to be part of it in any way. His most recent roles have been Lumiere in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, Young Carriere in PHANTOM, Von Hussler/Chimney Sweep in MARY POPPINS and Harry/Young Ebenezer in SCROOGE THE MUSICAL.
Braylen NelsonBraylen Nelson (Les) is thrilled to return to Artisan’s Main Stage as Les, the smallest newsie. Much like his character, Braylen looks up to the older newsies and has loved playing "the little brother." His previous roles include: Michael in PETER PAN JR., a Munchkin in THE WIZARD OF OZ, and most recently The Grinch in DR. SEUSS'S HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS. Kyle ScarboroughKyle Scarborough (Mayor/Stage Manager) is so excited to be back on Artisan’s Main Stage. His last show at Artisan was ANNE OF GREEN GABLES (Dr. Spencer). Past performances include POLLYANNA (Pastor Malden), THE SOUND OF MUSIC (Zeller), and CHEAPER BY THE DOZEN (Dr. Burton). Kyle works as an engineer. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife of 36 years, as well as keeping up with his 8 children currently scattered across the world.
Kylie ScarboroughKylie Scarborough (Splasher/Scab) is so excited to be back performing on Artisan’s Main Stage in NEWSIES. Her last performance on the Main Stage was THE ADVENTURES OF TOM SAWYER almost 4 years ago. Since then she has performed in A CHRISTMAS CINDERELLA (Sam), TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS (Peppermint), and ANNE OF GREEN GABLES (Jane Andrews). She would like to thank her family for always supporting her, as well as her dad for performing in shows with her.
Mark ScottMark Scott (Joseph Pulitzer) is a veteran of the Artisan stage, appearing most recently as King Triton in THE LITTLE MERMAID and as a featured soloist in THE TUMBLEWEED ROUNDUP series. He is ecstatic to be working with such talented young people and with director, Cody Walker. Mark works as a chemistry teacher at Keller Central High School and would like to thank his wife, Vicky, and the administration at CHS for their patience and support.
Marcus SolisMarcus Solis (Romeo) is ecstatic to be a part of his first show at Artisan debuting in his favorite musical. His love for acting has proven strong in previous shows such as OUTSIDERS (Johnny), DIVINERS (Buddy), and REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE (Jim). He would like to thank Cody for giving him this incredible opportunity and his theatre teacher, Mr. Paris, for helping him develop his passion for the art. Josue SummersJosué Summers (Davey) is thrilled to be in his first production at Artisan! Previous credits include GREASE (Kenickie), OVER THE RIVER AND THROUGH THE WOODS (Nick), CHASING LIGHTS 2016 (Elisha Gray), and CHASING LIGHTS 2017 (Flynn Rider). This past semester he completed his associates degree in Worship Leadership at The King’s University. He would like to thank God, his family, friends and director for all their love and support. Patrick VuPatrick Vu (Pit Singer) is thrilled to be in his first show at Artisan! He is a sophomore double-major in music education and composition at Texas Christian University. (Nick Piazza), CINDERELLA, and ONCE UPON A MATTRESS (Minstrel) in which he was nominated for best supporting actor by Irving Lyric Stage’s Schmidt and Jones awards for his work. Richard GwozdzH. Richard Gwozdz (Music Director) HEADLINE NEWSIES!!! This is Richard’s 53rd Musical at the Artisan Center Theater! Currently Music Director at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church in Dallas, Maintenance Secretary for the USPS, and pianist at Edelweiss in Fort Worth. Played the organ at CHL Hockey Games, Fashion Shows, Beauty Pageants, NHL Exhibition Hockey Games, USA vs USSR Hockey Game on ESPN, Celebrity Hockey Game, Texas Ranger Baseball Games, and Dallas Tornado's Indoor/Outdoor Soccer Games. Aaron LettAaron Lett (Assistant Director)
Alison Baron (Stage Manager) is a senior theatre major at Texas Wesleyan University. Although this is her first show at Artisan, she has done countless productions around the DFW area. Alison loves fuzzy socks, pork tamales, and velvet hair scrunchies. If you want to be her friend, the best way is through bad jokes or conspiracy theories, but she’s lame, so why would you want to do that?
Eden Skaer (Tech) is thrilled to be helping with tech in her first main stage show. She has stage managed CURIOUS GEORGE and WILLY WONKA JR. in children’s theater and absolutely loves being a part of the Artisan family. She is so excited about everything that is ahead and would like to thank Mrs.Natalie for teaching her and giving her the chance to be part of Artisan.
Emma Triplett (Tech/ASM) is thrilled to be helping with her first main stage show. She has stage managed SEUSSICAL THE MUSICAL, as well as been a performer in many shows on  the Children’s Theater stage and absolutely loves being a part of the Artisan family. She is excited about everything that's ahead and would like to thank Mrs. Natalie, Ms. Jen and Mr. Walker for teaching her and giving her the chance to be part of Artisan.
