Cameron Barkley (Robertson Ay) was practically raised on the music of the Sherman Brothers. Put that together with his fondness for the Cockney accent and the role of Robertson Aye is a perfect match. On Artisan’s Main Stage, Cameron has played the roles of Harvey Johnson in BYE BYE BIRDIE, Dickon in SECRET GARDEN, Billy Fisher in TOM SAWYER, Harry Locke in THE MUSIC MAN, Poppa in STARLIGHT EXPRESS, Tom Jenkins in SCROOGE, and Irish Pirate in THE PIRATE QUEEN. As a cast member with Artisan Children’s Theater, he has been in over a dozen productions. He also enjoys singing in the Second Stage musical revues, including SONGS FROM SHOWS YOU’LL NEVER SEE AT ARTISAN, RED, WHITE & TRUE BLUE, and THE TUMBLEWEED ROUNDUP. When he’s not singing, dancing, and acting at Artisan, Cameron is a Senior homeschooler and working to earn his Eagle Scout rank in Boy Scouts.

Jacob Bitter (Von Hussler/Mr. Punch/Dance Ensemble) loves to bring characters to life. Participating in school and community theater brought new depths to Jacob's understanding of characters and how to draw on experiences to enhance his story telling. Jacob loves to sing, dance, and act and draws a special enjoyment from that gratitude of others whom he has touched in some manner through his efforts. He has played leading and supporting roles and looks forward to each opportunity to perform.

Mallory Brinkley (Annie/Dance Ensemble) has appeared in film, commercials, and theater, and was most recently in a production of THE ARISTOCATS. Mallory is best-known for her role as “little girl” in the wildly popular Muller Insurance commercials filmed in New Jersey. Mallory’s love of acting and singing led her to the theater, and she feels incredibly grateful to be part of this production! Mallory would like to thank her mom for her never-ending love and tireless support of her talent.

Honing her craft and stretching to do new things is always an exciting endeavor! Some of her favorite parts have been Kala in TARZAN, Annabelle in LUCKY STIFF, Denise in SMOKE ON THE MOUNTAIN, and most recently, Evleen in THE PIRATE QUEEN. When she isn't working or doing theater, she is ever in the kitchen, baking cakes and pastries! She thanks each of her children for encouraging her to keep chasing that curtain! Nathanael Clark (Michael Banks) just finished 7th grade at Fort Worth Academy of Arts and is so thrilled to perform in MARY POPPINS! Last year, he was cast as Nigel in the National Tour of MATILDA, but decided to move back home to perform in his beloved state of Texas! Kelsey Jerger (Miss Lark/Dance Ensemble) is making her debut onto the musical theater stage. She graduated from TCU with a Bachelor’s in Music Education as a percussionist. Her life-long interest in music has lead her to many performance opportunities including university percussion ensemble, orchestra, and jazz band as well as with the World Champion Drum & Bugle corps, Phantom Regiment.

Jane Lyon (Mrs. Brill) turned her passion for singing into a business twelve years ago, and now brings a professionally-developed pre-school music curriculum to 20 child care centers in 5 counties. She has also spent approximately 15 years singing on her church's worship team. When she became an "empty nester" last year, and then was subsequently diagnosed with breast cancer, she made a list of "saying 'yes' to myself" things to do during her recuperation from surgery, when she was not to be returning to work for three months (and surgery was all she needed, so she will not miss any rehearsals or performances due to any medical treatments). One of the things at the top of her list was to audition for a musical at Artisan. She was so blessed to be Mrs. Higgins in MY FAIR LADY, and is now ready to step into a singing role!

She's loved performing since her first show at age 4, playing a Pirate Piggy in DORA’S PIRATE ADVENTURE. One of her favorite parts was playing Gretl von Trapp in the musical revue, SOME ENCHANTED EVENING: THE MUSIC OF RODGERS & HAMMERSTEIN with 3 of her 4 siblings. She is 9 years old.

Paloma Magaña (Jane) is a five-year stage veteran at age 11. Her favorite roles include Helen Keller in THE MIRACLE WORKER, Mary Lennox in THE SECRET GARDEN, and Annie in ANNIE WARBUCKS at The Firehouse Theater. Paloma also has numerous credits at Artisan Children’s Theater including Annie in ANNIE JR., Madeline in MADELINE’S CHRISTMAS, Young Fiona in SHREK THE MUSICAL, and Flounder in THE LITTLE MERMAID. She has won several competitions, including the Classical Singer Competition, Schmidt Youth Vocal Competition, NATS, and National YoungArts Foundation. Jeannie has performed the roles of Mother in Menotti’s AMAHL AND THE NIGHT VISITORS, Gretel in Humperdinck’s HANSEL AND GRETEL, and Laurie Moss in Copland’s THE TENDER LAND, as well as solos in Handel’s MESSIAH, Saint-Sean’s CHRISTMAS ORATORIO, and Nelson & Farrell’s SAVIOUR.

Rita Nsumbu (Mrs. Banks) is a Fort Worth native with a BA in Music from Hardin-Simmons University. She is a two-time NATS semi-finalist and a two-time Great Plains winner. Rita has spent the last few years teaching piano and voice, and performing in the DFW. Rita's classical background has afforded her the opportunity to play in more classical theater shows such as THE SOUND OF MUSIC and now, MARY POPPINS. Currently, Rita is a member of the Dallas Symphony Chorus and is a commissioned singer at Royal Lane Baptist Church. In addition to her singing, Rita also collaborates with up-and-coming composers as a lyricist.

He has previously enjoyed his roles with the Children’s Theater in PINKIE AND BLUE, ALICE IN WONDERLAND, CHARLOTTE’S WEB, CAT IN THE HAT, THE LITTLE MERMAID, A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD, MADAGASCAR, JR., and SEUSSICAL, JR. He would like to thank his ACT mentors and fellow ACT friends for their friendships and support.

Marla A. SchulzMarla A. Schulz (Director/Choreographer) began her theatrical and music education at Casa Manana and the Texas Girls Choir. After graduating from Boswell High School, she travelled to Illinois where she got her BFA in musical theater from Southern Illinois University. From there, Marla has had the pleasure to work as a director and choreographer for various theaters and films across the country. Some of her favorite past productions include: GODSPELL (FIERCE: Musical Theater), the Off-Broadway premier of A PIE RAT’S TALE (Three Act Theatre), NEXT TO NORMAL (Shots in the Dark, Inc.), Motif Awards Opening Performance (Walt Disney Concert Hall), and CLYBOURNE PARK (Southern Illinois University). Marla is also continuing her education at the University of Colorado, Boulder, by pursuing an MFA in Dance. Her research focuses on the function of dance as a storytelling element in musical theater, and its ability to break down cultural and emotional barriers. She is extremely excited to be back in her hometown, even if it's just for a few months, to put up a magical production of MARY POPPINS. She plans on bringing​​ her knowledge and enthusiasm for musical theater as well as some Texas heart to the summer show!
Abby SavageAbby Savage (Stage Manager) is thrilled to be a part of MARY POPPINS. This is her first time stage managing a Main Stage show. However, she has stage managed several Children's Theater shows. Her favorites include SHREK THE MUSICAL and THE LITTLE MERMAID. Abby would like to thank her friends and family for being so supportive, and her Heavenly Father for making all this possible.
Wendy Searcy-WoodeWendy Searcy-Woode (Scenic & Set Designer) is in her second season as the Scenic Design/Build Director here at Artisan Center Theater. Wendy designed and built all the Artisan Main Stage sets for 2016 season including, STATE FAIR, STARLIGHT EXPRESS, CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG, BYE BYE BIRDIE, BIG FISH, FOREVER PLAID, ARSENIC AND OLD LACE, among others. For the Children’s Theater, she designed sets for THE CAT IN THE HAT, THE LITTLE MERMAID, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, and others. With 25 years of theatre experience on and off the stage, she brings her passion and is completely grateful to be doing what she loves most. She would like to thank her family for their continued love and support.
