Cameron Barkley (Dancer/Candleman/Crony) is excited to be back in this French provincial town. He previously portrayed Maurice in the Artisan Children’s production of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST JR. Here on the Artisan Main Stage, roles have included the Winkie General in THE WIZARD OF OZ, Enjolras in LES MISÉRABLES: SCHOOL EDITION, Robertson Ay in MARY POPPINS, Dickon in SECRET GARDEN, Poppa in STARLIGHT EXPRESS, Tom Jenkins in SCROOGE, and Irish Pirate in THE PIRATE QUEEN. He’s also enjoyed singing and dancing on the Artisan Second Stage in SONGS FROM SHOWS YOU’LL NEVER SEE AT ARTISAN, RED, WHITE & TRUE BLUE, TUMBLEWEED ROUNDUP, and CITY OF STARS. When he’s not singing, dancing, and acting at Artisan, Cameron is a high school senior homeschooler and Eagle Scout. He will be attending the University of North Texas in the fall.

Katie Billups (Teen Ensemble) is very excited to be in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, as this is her first production with her brother, Truett Billups. Katie will be a freshman this upcoming school year. She began theatre just three years ago. Since then, she has played Florinda in INTO THE WOODS JR, Pilar in LEGALLY BLONDE JR, Glinda in DOROTHY IN WONDERLAND, and Ensemble in LES MISÉRABLES last summer. In her spare time, Katie likes to figure skate, draw, and snuggle with her corgi, Anna.

Truett Billups (Book Seller/Crony/Wolf) enjoys doing musical theater at Artisan because it’s a great break from his job as a publishing editor. He played Drake in ANNIE and Tinman in THE WIZARD OF OZ. He likes to read, write, make movies (check him out on, and caught a shark in Florida! Fishing for sharks isn’t a hobby, but it was fun. Ashtyn Campbell (Babette) is excited to take part in this Disney classic! Her favorite roles include starring as Margy Frake in Artisan’s STATE FAIR and Ariel Moore/Chase’s Mom in Gateway’s CHASING LIGHTS. Ashtyn teaches many styles of dance at studios around the metroplex including Gateway Performing Arts and Gayle Corkery School of Ballet. She recently became a certified Pilates/Barre instructor. She is excited to be choreographing MARY POPPINS this Summer at Gateway Church!

Noël Clark (Wardrobe) feels so blessed to perform in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST under the direction of John Wilkerson! In a previous life, she was an Opera Apprentice with the Knoxville Opera Company and University of Tennessee, where she earned her Masters of Music in Vocal Performance. Some past performances were THE MARRIAGE OF FIGARO (Cherubino), THE DIALOGUES OF THE CARMELITES (Blanche), THE TURN OF THE SCREW (Flora), ALBERT HERRING (Emmie) and THE FANTASTICKS (Luisa). Once married, she redirected her focus to family and teaching. She is a proud mother of 5 children (who have performed on the Artisan stages as well). Now she serves as the Music Director for Artisan Children's Theater and is a Private Voice and Piano teacher and a Musical Theater Instructor for the Artisan Academy. She is ecstatic for the honor to be able to return to the stage, thanks to Artisan! You may have recently seen her in PHANTOM (Carlotta), THE PIRATE QUEEN (Evelyn), and SCROOGE (Mrs. Cratchit). Rebekah McCarroll (Napkin) is a 2017 homeschool graduate from Gainesville, Texas. Rebekah has been performing in music theater since she was 12. From the moment she stepped on stage, she fell in love with acting. Some of Rebekah's favorite roles are Gertie Cummings in OKLAHOMA, and Phoebe in MISS NELSON IS MISSING. She also has held several lead roles with Family Friendly Productions. Rebekah has studied classical ballet, jazz, and tap at Cooke County Ballet Academy for over ten years. Rebekah has been a part of Festival Ballet Of North Central Texas' production of THE NUTCRACKER for three years. Rebekah is currently enrolled in classes at North Central Texas College, where she is working on her Associates in Nursing.

Her husband introduced theater to her family nine years ago. They have truly enjoyed acting together. Gabriel Padgett (Chip) is delighted and honoured to be in his first stage appearance at Artisan Center Theater. Gabriel made his acting debut as the title role in HERCULES at the Cottage Theatre in 2017, and was recently featured as Sam Castle in an original playwright, THE EMPTY SEAT. Gabriel loves to sing and dance. He studies theatre, voice, piano, jazz, tap, and ballet. His favorite subjects in school are math and science.

Brendon Ramsey (Baker/Bartender) is thrilled to return to the Artisan Center Theater stage to take part in this Disney classic. Previously, he played Jamie in Artisan’s production of MY FAIR LADY, as well as the Minister of Culture in PHANTOM and several roles (including Joe Mauldin) in THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY, as well as Paul Wakowski in Garland Civic Theater’s INLAWS, OUTLAWS, AND OTHER PEOPLE (THAT SHOULD BE SHOT). She has won many choir awards and has performed solos at many private events. Lillian enjoys community theater and has acted in numerous musicals including THE LITTLE MERMAID, HAIRSPRAY, CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG, SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK, and SEUSSICAL. Her hobbies include reading, karate, piano, art, dance, and giving speeches. Her greatest ambition is to become the first woman president!

Shafer Wilkerson (Beast) Is thrilled to be in his third production on the Artisan stage. He has been the Phantom in PHANTOM, and Pat in STATE FAIR for ACT, as well as for Stolen Shakespeare Guild. Shafer is a singer/songwriter, who released his debut EP “Not Today" worldwide in the beginning of 2017. Wilkerson has garnered praise from Dallas artists for the work he has done in not only his music, but in others as well. John WilkersonJohn Wilkerson (Director) received his Bachelor of Music Education from the Shenandoah Conservatory of Music (now Shenandoah University). He completed his graduate work in vocal performance at the State University of New York and placed third in the Metropolitan Opera competition. At the college, high school, and grade school levels, he taught voice classes, private voice, music theory, music appreciation, choir and band. He wrote curriculum, served as head of the Music Department, and directed many theatrical productions. As an athlete who also coached tennis and football, he instills in all of his students the discipline and drive to attain their personal best. In professional theatre, he has produced, directed and designed numerous musicals and plays. Some of the productions he has directed include: MY FAIR LADY, PHANTOM, PROPOSALS, BAREFOOT IN THE PARK, BRIGADOON, GUYS AND DOLLS, SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN, and WHITE CHRISTMAS (Artisan) and THE SOUND OF MUSIC, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, HELLO DOLLY, ROMEO AND JULIET, and THE TAMING OF THE SHREW at other venues. As a performer, Mr. Wilkerson is not only known for his vocal prowess, but for his acting skills and ability to convey the emotion and meaning of a piece with amazing subtlety. Broadway: STATE FAIR with John Davidson, Andrea McArdle and Donna McKechnie, and PETER PAN with Cathy Rigby. National tours: BRIGADOON with John Schneider, MAN OF LA MANCHA with Ed Ames, STATE FAIR, and PETER PAN. In a national tour of SOUTH PACIFIC, he understudied Robert Goulet in the role of Emile and was privileged to play the role many times, receiving standing ovations and critical acclaim. Off-Broadway: a starring role in ABBY’S SONG, in which several of the songs were written for him, The President of the United States in CONFLICT OF INTEREST at the New Federal Theatre, CAPTAINS COURAGEOUS at Manhattan Theatre Club, BOYS FROM SYRACUSE, and A TREE GROWS IN BROOKLYN, both part of the critically acclaimed City Center’s Encore Series. He has enjoyed starring roles in several world premieres and in many regional productions including Don Quixote in MAN OF LA MANCHA, Frederick in A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, Daddy Warbucks in ANNIE, Henry Higgins in MY FAIR LADY, Ben Stone in FOLLIES, and Tevye in FIDDLER ON THE ROOF. He is very proud to have played Emile in the Dallas Theatre Center production of SOUTH PACIFIC, which was nationally acclaimed and for which he was nominated for the Leon Rabin award. He has appeared in numerous operas and operettas, with philharmonics, symphonies and chamber orchestras. Mr. Wilkerson spent three years touring as one of the Three Redneck Tenors (though he is neither a redneck nor a tenor!). He and his wife, singer/actress Margaret, also produced the critically-acclaimed STATE FAIR, called by one critic “one of the best productions Dallas has seen.” The couple founded the very successful Musical Theatre Institute, which, through summer camps, workshops and private lessons, provides professional instruction and guidance offered by performers with experience living and working in New York City. Carla WicksCarla Wicks (Stage Manager) is thrilled to be assisting John Wilkerson and leading the Tech team for BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. She has performed for the past three years on the Main and Second Stage here at Artisan. She has provided tech leadership and costume support as well. She praises God for many blessings, husband, Ken, for love/support, and daughter, Nicole, for inspiration/encouragement.
Elise Lavallee (Choreographer) is a professional dancer, director, dance instructor, and a proud member of AEA. She has choreographed over fifty musicals in the DFW area, some which are: THE MERRY WIDOW, CENDRILLON, IN THE HEIGHTS, JUBILATION, CABARET, and THE THEORY OF RELATIVITY. She has also choreographed for Casa Manana, The Dallas Opera, The Dallas Theater Center, Circle Theatre, and at the collegiate level: University Of North Texas Opera, Texas Wesleyan University, and University of Texas at Arlington. She has won awards for Best Direction of a Musical; CINDERELLA at Theatre Arlington and Best Choreography at All Saints Episcopal School’s THE DROWSY CHAPERONE. Some of her DVD and Film credits include: Music video – Keep in Mind; Movie teaser – Heaven; and Assistant Choreographer for Let’s Make Music and Let’s Go To The Fire House. As an instructor, she has worked for Kids Who Care as a resident choreographer. She also teaches for Margo Dean School of Ballet, Ballet International Elite Academy, All Saints Episcopal School, Texas Wesleyan University, Dance Theatre of Arlington, Studio C, Grand Prairie Fine Arts Academy, Dian Clough West, Theatre Arlington, Arlington Heights High School, and The Trinity Valley School.
Richard GwozdzH. Richard Gwozdz (Music Director) is excited in working in his 48th musical at Artisan Center Theater since 2010. Started piano at 8 years old. With Texas Boy’s Choir sang for President Kennedy, Ed Sullivan Show, Perry Como Show, Grammy Award recordings, toured United States/Europe. Music Director at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church in Dallas, Maintenance Secretary for USPS, Pianist at Edelweiss German Restaurant, and 2016 DFW Theater Critics Forum Orchestral Conducting Award. Hannah SimpsonHannah Simpson (Asst. Stage Manager) is excited to be working with John, Carla, and the rest of the production team in this outstanding show. Her previous stage management experience includes: SEUSSICAL JR, MADAGASCAR JR, and FAIRY TALE CHRISTMAS CAROL all on the Artisan Children’s stage. She has also assisted John in last summer’s intensive production of LES MISÉRABLES. She would like to thank her parents, grandparents, and friends for all their love and support.
Cindy BarkleyCindy Barkley (Asst. Stage Manager) is excited to be working her favorite Disney musical with son, Cameron, on stage and husband, Charles, helping backstage. She’s enjoyed working tech for Main Stage shows and stage managing Second Stage musical reviews. But most importantly, she loves being a dedicated ‘Artie’s Mom’ to Cameron and all the youth performers here at Artisan.
Susan Reeves (Asst. Stage Manager) is delighted to be back at Artisan, helping again with a production directed by John Wilkerson. She was prop manager for GUYS AND DOLLS a couple of years ago. Her acting credits include being a Mom in FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, and Sister Bertha in SOUND OF MUSIC, both directed by and starring John Wilkerson at the Firehouse Theatre. The best part is being part of the show with her daughter Rebecca (Silly Girl). Special thanks to John Wilkerson for trusting her to do this and her husband, Ron, for being a stage-widower and pet-sitter for the next few months plus his unwavering support of his wife and daughter.
Ellen BorishEllen Borish (Costumer) is so excited to be a part of this cast, with such talented actors. She has costumed many shows at Artisan Center Theater, Theater Arlington and helped with several school shows for various schools. She has been in several productions as an actor but loves being involved in the behind the scenes. She loves creating a look and seeing a show come to life through costuming.
